Business Services and Audit Partner
Nick has almost 30 years’ experience working with a wide range of clients across a variety of industries, in both the for-profit and not-for-profit sectors. In addition to providing accounting and taxation services, he is a qualified auditor, leading our audit division in the performance of audit and other assurance engagements for commercial enterprises(except those with FMC reporting requirements), charities and other not-for profit entities.
Nick puts a strong emphasis on understanding his clients and the industry in which they operate, so he can address their particular requirements. He provides thoughtful, pragmatic and commercially-targeted advice, with a focus on clients’ needs and goals.
He developed his accounting and business skills working as a chartered accountant with an offshoot of KPMG (which eventually formed the nucleus of Arthur Andersen in New Zealand in the early 1990s). Working primarily in the business services division of the firm, he left in 1993 to join a predecessor firm of Walker Wayland Auckland, where he became a Partner in 1997. His experience encompasses acting for local and international clients; providing assistance with business structuring, acquisitions and sales; general taxation matters; and assurance services for stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
Nick has been a Trustee of the Northbridge Lifecare Trust since 2008. This charitable organisation owns and manages a retirement complex on Auckland’s North Shore, and continues an interest Nick has in the not-for-profit sector.
Nick is a milestone member of Chartered Accountants Australia and New Zealand (CAANZ), is currently a member of the BKR International Asia/Pacific Region Standards Committee, and is a member of the Walker Wayland Australasia Standards Committee.
